FAITH AS A WORD (1)
A. My most recent musings
I recently was considering the story of Paul (the Apostle) when he, along with plenty other people were shipwrecked. During this ordeal, an Angel of The LORD appeared to him, letting him know that neither him nor anyone onboard would lose their life. None of them did.
This got me wondering if perhaps, we never would have experienced the tragedy of the Titanic if there had been one man on that ship who had (and actively walked in the awareness of) a Covenant of long life with God.
- Anyway -
B. Faith as divinely imparted
I have grappled with the idea of faith for as long as I can remember. I am only recently realizing that it is not a concept I can understand in my own (supremely limited) human wisdom. That is not only a vicious cycle but also a vain one. To put it differently, I require faith to understand faith and its principles.
I have learnt that faith is not innate either - it is divinely imparted. The WORD says faith comes by hearing, and hearing The WORD of God.
The book of Hebrews is one of the most widely used Scriptures on faith, and here are a few additional thoughts from Chapter 11:3.
C. Faith and the framing of the worlds.
“By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible.”
Hebrews 11:3 NKJV
With faith comes understanding.
With faith comes the understanding of how the world as we know it came into existence. This familiar story of creation is a foundational pillar of the Christian faith. How Elohim spoke into place, every single thing that we now see today.
It is also by faith that we understand that not only was our Creator filling the earth, but He also gave us the footprint to equally create our own worlds (within the world He already created for our dominion) as well.
It is by understanding that God created through His Word, that we too, start to speak things into existence. The Bible says that when we behold Him (in this case, as The Creator), we too are transformed into the same image.
The revelation of our Father as The Creator evokes us to order our own realities. Your worlds are many things. Your heart - the capacity to believe Him. (He has put eternity in the human heart). Your abilities. Your future. Your life. Health. Finances. Your family. Your nation. Other nations. Continents. Nature. You decide.
The words David spoke concerning Goliath’s demise came to pass in the exact way he spoke them. Including by cutting off his head.
By faith, we gain the understanding that God ordained us Kings because, among other things, we have the power to decree a thing (including a world). However, because He is The King of kings, we (kings), speak forth only the decrees already put in place by Him (The King).
“Then the Lord put out his hand and touched my mouth. And the Lord said to me, “Behold, I have put my words in your mouth.”
Jeremiah 1:9
We understand that when we decree a thing in line with The WORD of God, it cannot fail - no Word from God ever fails. As we speak His Word, the invisible starts to align and make way for the manifestation of visible realities.
By faith, we understand that our worlds are only as wide as we have decreed. When God created the universe, He spoke large. He commanded the creation of an expanse, wide and infinite - and called it the sky. This sky as we know it today - we cannot even begin to tell its beginning from its end.
He commanded a multitude of sea and earth creatures, plenty of vegetation yielding fruit in its season. Centuries later, there are still too many plant and animal species to count. He commanded the creation of two great lights (sun and moon) which to-date still separate day from night.
The Creator equally calls us to create vast worlds around us. Speak large, just like your Creator. That is His Will. He promises that we are a city without walls - there are no limitations.
The best part is that He also promises that even as we expand, He is a ring of fire around us … and so as you begin to decree an expansion of your universe, the ring of fire expands just as well to accommodate the increase.
“…Jerusalem shall be inhabited as villages without walls, because of the multitude of people and livestock in it. And I will be to her a wall of fire all around, declares the Lord, and I will be the glory in her midst.”
Zechariah 2:4-5
By faith, we understand that creation of worlds includes their restoration. The word ‘framed’ as used in Hebrews 11:4 includes an element of ‘to mend’ or ‘to repair’. In fact, the earth was described as being without form (a whole other story) but it indicates an element of restoration to better form. As God’s mouthpiece, you’re called to decree reparations.
“Again He said to me, “Prophesy to these bones, and say to them, ‘O dry bones, hear the word of the Lord! …So I prophesied as I was commanded; and as I prophesied, there was a noise, and suddenly a rattling; and the bones came together, bone to bone.”
Ezekiel 37:4, 7
By faith, we understand that the universe was created by The Word of God, so that what is seen was not made out of things that are visible…
